Alright, let’s talk about these here electric scissor lift carts. You know, the things that go up and down and help you reach stuff way up high. I ain’t no expert, but I’ve seen ’em around, and I reckon I can tell you a thing or two.

First off, what the heck is a scissor lift cart anyway? Well, it’s like a table that can go way up in the air. It’s got these criss-crossy arms that look like scissors, hence the name, see? And they got a little platform on top where you can stand or put stuff. Handy, I tell ya, real handy for gettin’ things done up high, like fixin’ the roof or changin’ light bulbs, that kind of thing. Some of these go real high, like, higher than my old barn, maybe 20, 30, even 50 feet up in the air, that’s what I heard, I ain’t measured it myself.

Now, why would you want an electric one? Well, let me tell you, them electric ones are quieter than a church mouse, or at least quieter than my old tractor. No stinkin’ fumes either, which is good if you’re workin’ inside, I reckon, don’t wanna be breathin’ in all that nasty stuff.

If you’re lookin’ to buy one of these contraptions, there’s a few things you gotta think about. First off, how high do you need it to go? Don’t need to be buyin’ one that goes to the moon if you’re just fixin’ the porch light, right? And how much weight you gonna be puttin’ on it? You and your tools, that’s gotta be considered. You don’t want it to come crumblin’ down on ya. You best be checkin’ that weight limit, or you might end up in a heap of trouble.

  • Check for leaks: Make sure there ain’t no oil or nothin’ drippin’ out. That ain’t a good sign.
  • Look for dents and cracks: You want somethin’ sturdy, not somethin’ that looks like it’s been through a war.
  • Wiggle things: Make sure everything is tight and secure, no loosey-goosey parts.

Now, how long do these things last? Well, the electric ones, they say they can last a good long while, maybe 10 or 15 years even if you take good care of ’em. But them batteries, well, them batteries might need replacin’ every few years, three to five they say. You have to see for yourself what they say. Kinda like my old radio, the radio lasted forever, but the batteries kept dyin’ on me, had to keep buyin’ new ones.

And where should you use these electric scissor lift carts? Like I said, they’re good for inside work, quiet and no fumes. If you’re workin’ outside in the mud and the rough stuff, you might need a different kind, a diesel one maybe. But them diesels are loud and smelly, so think hard about what you need.

Every day you gotta take a good look at your lift before you use it. Check for leaks again, make sure there ain’t nothin’ fallin’ off, kick the tires, so to speak. Safety first, that’s what I always say. Don’t want nobody gettin’ hurt. If somethin’ looks wonky, don’t use it. Better safe than sorry, that’s what my ma always used to tell me.

So, there you have it, a little bit about electric scissor lift carts. They’re handy contraptions, for sure, but you gotta pick the right one for the job and take care of it. And always remember, safety first! Don’t be a fool and try to do somethin’ you ain’t comfortable with. And that is that.
